COMMUNITY leaders have launched a crackdown on a gang of youths causing havoc in Westbury.

Police, youth workers and councillors joined forces to try to put an end to anti-social behaviour plaguing the town at a meeting on Tuesday night.

Pippa McVeigh, west Wiltshire district council community safety officer, said: "It was a very positive meeting and we made progress towards relieving some of the problems experienced by the community.

The group targeted is a gang of 10 youngsters aged between 16 and 19 years, known for causing trouble on school premises and in the High Street.
