CREATIVE children from Codford have turned their village school into a classic piece of Italian art.
Following a trip to London's National Gallery in September, pupils at Codford Primary School began a project based on a painting called The Stone Mason's Yard by Canaletto.
Now all the children have created sculptures, stories and drawings based on the characters seen in it.
Romy Wyeth, chairman of Codford parish council, said: "What the children have done is absolutely wonderful, they managed to write stories and make sculptures and drawings using just their imagination and one painting.
"The project covers the whole national curriculum.
"Now they have a new way of looking at things and are aware of what is behind the faade."
Each class was given different materials to use including wood, metal and cardboard.
Over 200 children took part in the project, which will carry on until the end of the year.
The school runs regular art projects and every class is named after a famous painter.
