Ref. 28207-94TIM Hurr is the newest addition to the teaching team, having started in April.
The Year 6 teacher admits that arriving at a school with a poor history was a shock, but adds that it has been great watching things turn around. "Obviously I read the Ofsted reports before I applied for the job and was aware of the problems," said Mr Hurr. "I had only been here five weeks when the school got inspected and it was a bit of shock going in at the deep end.
"But now it's wonderful to see how much things have changed. We have great resources now in terms of equipment and computers.
"The management is very good and Debbie is supportive."
CATHERINE Pritchard the longest-serving member of staff arrived at the school five years ago when the school was in real trouble. She feels a sense of pride in what the school has achieved.
"It has taken a lot of hard work but I think we have finally turned a corner," said Mrs Pritchard, a Year 4 and 5 teacher. "The school is much more rewarding and challenging, both for the children and staff."
Mrs Pritchard says the support of parents has been paramount to getting the school back on track.
"It has made a lot of difference. Everyone has pulled together to change things for the better."
