CHANCES of snow falling in Trowbridge over the next two weeks are growing slimmer by the day but staff at one town pub are already looking forward to an odds-on white Christmas.
Steve and Lynne Rainey, who manage the Black Horse, have installed a snow machine in the top-floor window of the Frome Road pub to give the impression of a real blizzard.
The snow machine has been whipping up a storm with customers and passing motorists, who have stopped to watch the flakes fall onto the street. Barmaid Nikki Gilbert said people are congregating outside the pub to play in the snow.
"People driving past are just staring.
"The snow machine is outside a bedroom window with a snowman next to it," she said.
"It probably will be the only chance of a white Christmas.
"We put it on when we want a bit of snow. It looks very real and when you are inside the pub and glance out it looks genuine.
"It gives us all a Christmas feel."
