SKATERS from across Swindon will be getting together next week to show how much Swindon needs a permanent indoor skate and bike park.
From Wednesday skaters of all ages will be meeting at the former railway museum in Faringdon Road.
The event is organised by the Swindon Community Sk8 project and will end with an Off The Rails skate competition on Saturday, December 20.
The day will involve practice sessions for skateboarders, inline skaters and BMX bikes.
Photos, videos and artwork to illustrate local skate culture will also be on display, as well as the ramps to be used during the competition.
Entrance to the display is free, but there is a charge for the competition on December 20.
Tickets are available in advance from Tower 12, Victoria Road, Old Town and Loco, Brunel Centre, cost £7. Tickets are limited.
There will be a £5 registration fee, payable on the day, for those wishing to enter the competition.
