AMONG all the good news about the progress of primary schools in Swindon revealed in the latest league tables, I feel special mention should be made of Oaktree Primary.
In the past three years, Oaktree has progressed year after year and the most recent tables show that the school was in the top 100 primary schools in England for the progress it has made.
This is a tremendous achievement given that there are more than 18,000 primary schools in England.
It is a great tribute to the hard work of the head, Ann Harris and all the staff, governors, parents and children. Given the right level of resources I am sure that the progress which has been made will continue well into the future.
I know at first hand the effort that has gone into making the school a positive learning environment. It is so pleasing when all the blood, sweat, and tears combined with support from the LEA pays off. STEVE ALLSOPP
