SAMMY IGOE will pull on a Town shirt for the first time in almost two months today, before hearing Andy King urge his players to reward the belief which continues to radiate from the County Ground faithful.
Another 10,000 gate is expected for the clash with Plymouth Argyle and the Town boss insists that should send out a powerful message that the Swindon public has faith in his team to succeed.
He said: "Chief executive Mark Devlin tells me we are looking at another five-figure crowd.
"That tells me that there is still a belief out there.
"The support has been tremendous this year and with only three points between us and a play-off place, I feel the people of this town sense that with a run of results, their team can still challenge.
"I wonder if we would be looking at such a big crowd if we were nine points adrift.
"The same applies to Plymouth Argyle. For them to be bringing up to 3,000 fans makes a statement about their faith in their team."
As for the match itself, King has no fears about the second-placed Pilgrims, especially as he will be boosted by the return of Sammy Igoe who has been cleared to play.
He said: "I still believe we are one of the better sides in this league.
"We have to stop shooting ourselves in the foot and remain professional and disciplined for 90 minutes. It's important we play to our strengths."
King clearly views Igoe as a 'strength' and goes into today's game full of optimism.
He said: "Sammy Igoe is as bright technically as you will find in this league and probably the best in this division in that hole behind the strikers."
King is satisfied that Igoe will not worry about simply trying to protect his damaged wrist and that he will perform without anxiety.
Kick-off cannot come soon enough for the midfielder who has been sidelined for the last eight games.
Igoe said: "The scan results show the injury is repairing as there's bone laying across where the crack is.
"Hopefully it will continue to heal on it's own.
"The manager's concern is more the mental side and would I be worrying about the injury during the game?
"I've assured him that in the last few days, I have trained as normal without even thinking about the injury. That's what he wanted to hear.
"We only need a little run to get back among the play-off spots but now is the time to put that run together.
"Christmas is a really important time. We want to be up there going into the new year, to dig in and make sure we're still there at the end."
