A ONE-WAY system will be introduced to Gipsy Lane and Bridge End Road in the New Year while roadworks are carried out.
Resurfacing work started across Swindon in October and was due to last eight weeks.
Sections in Gipsy Lane between Greenbridge and Coopers Bridge, and the Gas Board roundabout to Chapel Street roundabout were deferred because of Transco main replacement in adjacent streets.
Now work will start on Thursday, January 8 and will take seven working days to finish.
The one way system will be established east to west and a diversion route will also be set up.
Access for pedestrians and to premises along the road will not be affected.
The work will be carried out by Hanson Construction.
