ENGLAND'S recent victory in the Rugby World Cup is one of the best pieces of news for years and has given millions another reason to be proud to be English. Just look at the scenes in London when people turned out to cheer the rugby squad.
However just one thing spoiled the day in my view i.e. President Tony Blair.
His government has hit middle England with excessive tax rises, forces politically correct codswallop like telling us the Union Flag and Cross of St George are racist, relentlessly pursuing a programme to destroy all traditions, culture and institutions that makes us English, ratified three EU treaties and surrendered power to Brussels and now is hell bent on forcing a new constitution on us with no chance for us to have our say.
They even want to carve up England into regions and abolish our counties so that England will no longer officially exist.
But the minute an English team wins a world championship, President Blair who yearns to be the first President of a Federal European Superstate is in a desperate panic to have his photo taken with the English team and to share the limelight with our heroes.
How hypocritical can a person go? As a man who is so obsessed with being at the heart of Europe, and belittling everything English he should have stuck to his principles and kept out of the way in Brussels.
The only politicians worthy to be photographed with Jonny Wilkinson and the others is one whose first and only loyalty is to Britain and not the EU.
