CRICKLADE warmed up for a potentially-crucial Dorset & Wilts Two North home clash with Hungerford on Saturday by slipping to a 35-5 defeat at the hands of Swindon College Old Boys in a friendly.
Victory over Hungerford this weekend will continue Cricklade's 100 per cent record and virtually leave them with one hand on the title.
Hungerford stayed tucked in behind second-placed Marlborough after thumping Supermarine 2nd 74-0.
Marine skipper Andy Uzzell admitted: "We will not be competitive in this league unless a higher number of players commit themselves to regular training.
"Two hours on a Wednesday evening is not too much to ask.''

COLERNE gained a hard-earned 19-14 over Corsham's second string in their friendly encounter on Saturday.
The visitors certainly enjoyed the greater possession and territory.
But Colerne made the most of their chances, with centre Jamie Duncan first scoring a breakaway try, and then an interception try, both converted, for a 14-0 lead.
Corsham responded with a try just before half-time from flanker Rob Godwin, converted by full-back Phil Kernan.
The visitors all but camped in Colerne territory during the second half, but their efforts floundered on the home side's determined defence.
Kernan eventually crossed over wide out, and converted to level the scores.
Colerne, though, grabbed another breakaway try through Peter Evans.
MARLBOROUGH finally put paid to the stubborn resistance of Aldbourne Dabchicks, moving clear in the second period to win 33-7.
It was a testament to Aldbourne's determination that the first half remained scoreless until the very last minute.
But they finally cracked in the dying seconds of the first half as big Irish centre Jonathan Crowe broke through a couple of tackles.
His try was converted by skipper Nick Dobson and, with a quarter of the game remaining, sub Andy Hey collected a weak clearance and weaved through the Aldbourne defence before off-loading to Simon Borthwick, who touched down.
Dobson spotted a gap to run in the third and convert before Aldbourne pulled a well-deserved score back.
Marlborough again reasserted their dominance and veteran prop Brian Kent barged over, Dobson again converting.
