Premier Division outfit Bradford News were just too good for Division One Horse & Groom as they claimed a comfortable 4-0 victory to ease into the quarter finals of the PPL Presto Print sponsored Eric Hughes Memorial Knockout Cup.

The Horse and Groom held out for 35 minutes before falling behind to a Russell Francis goal.

He added a further two goals in the second half to complete his hat-trick, the third of which came from a penalty. Gary Williamson was the Newsmen's other scorer

Holders All Cannings overcame a potential banana skin against the Division Three Hare & Hounds, who had lost only one of their previous nine matches.

Cannings won 4-2, Nick Oram, Richard Holman, Ben Bridewell and a Stuart Swan own goal seeing them home with Mark Vowdrey and Tim Wootton replying.

Division Two leaders Corsham Centre defeated Premier opponents Hullavington 6-0 to remain unbeaten, James Lye, Simon Grey and Craig Gingell all scoring twice.

Premier Division leaders Sherston Town overwhelmed Third Division Parsons Nose 9-3.

Antony Vizard (3), Andy Wicks (3), Matt Wilkins (2) and a Gareth Evans own goal made life easy for Sherston as Wayne Bailey (2) and Ricky Sullivan hit the Nose's consolations.

The all-Division One clash between leaders Biddestone Social and Chippenham Police went to form as Biddestone ran out 2-0 victors, Matt Pratley getting both.

Division Four FC Bradford fell 4-2 to top-flight Westbury Rangers A as Marc Lanfear (2), Mark Pearce and Paul Beavers shared the goals, but also had Sam Tucker red-carded.

Dean Fry scored Biddestone Arms' consolation in a 3-1 home loss to North Star A, who made the last eight thanks to goals from Tommy Ludford, Pete Thornton and Simon Vowden.

PREMIER DIVISION

Winsley claimed the performance of the week, defeating Terry's FC for their first win of the season.

Their 3-2 victory came courtesy of a wonder strike from 17-year-old Mark Birleson plus goals from Oliver Gee and Carl Harfield, Richard Clarke replying twice.

West Lavington returned after a two-week absence with a 3-1 victory over The Duke Corsham, for whom Steve Curtis opened the scoring.

But Lee Campbell, Simon Drewitt's sixth and seventh strikes of the season turned the game on its head.

Box Rovers moved back into second spot behind Sherston Town after destroying Calne Town 7-0.

Tim Jefferies led the scoring with four, Nick Denham and Haydn Brockhurst (2) adding the others.

DIVISION ONE

Wingfield made it four wins on the bounce after they defeated Colerne 2-1.

Colerne led through Jake Jefferies' goal, but Lee Frisby and Rob Edginton won it.

Trowbridge Harriers completed the league double over The George Lacock by virtue of a 3-2 win.

Matty Hobbs and Paul Edwards were inspirational in the Harriers win despite Edwards missing a third penalty on the trot.

Lee Carpenter and Neil Parrish found the net for Lacock, but Jamie Burbedge twice and James Dowd gave Harriers the win.

An excellent treble from Gary Blackwood plus a magnificent free-kick from Stuart Wilson and Tony Falcone goal earned Chippenham Sports and Social Club a 5-2 win over Atworth United who replied with a double from Gary Smith.

DIVISION TWO

Holt's two points from their 4-1 win over Christian Malford saw them close the gap at the top.

Tom Pang and Neil Grant shared two apiece and Scott Evans took his tally for the season to 18 with Malford's consolation.

The match between Roadrunners FC and Southwick Sports kicked off half an hour late and was abandoned after 42 minutes with Southwick leading 3-1.

Roadrunners had Steve Green sent off after just 50 seconds and from then on the match deteriorated into farce as more yellow cards followed before Chris Stoykovski was shown the red card for using foul and insulting language towards the match official which led to the game being called to a halt.

Lee Kelty (Roadrunners) and Dan Alford (2) and Steve Ivin (Southwick) goals count for nothing.

DIVISION THREE

Corsham Park Rangers arrested a run of five straight defeats with a 5-0 home win over Sir Audley Arms.

Paul Smith and Gordon Willshire (two each) plus Servet Aslan won it as Arms' Wayne Burry was given his marching orders.

Four Seasons remain unbeaten as their 8-2 defeat of Trowbridge Town Supporters Club extended their unbeaten run to 12 games.

Jason Richie, Paul Maddoxs, Marcus Young, Jason Cole plus two each from Adam Smith and Gary Banks accounted for their goals as James Pinkernell and sub Ross Heard were on target for the losers.

Pig & Whistle United's 5-1 victory over Bradstone Rovers moved them clear of the drop zone.

Jeff Hale, Steve Robinson, Adie Cooper and Paul McCarthy who struck twice made sure Rob Lymath's goal was a Bradstone's consolation.

DIVISION FOUR

Virgin Mobile hit fellow title contenders Classic FC for six, as Dayle Townsend replied.

Ian Standing hammered four goals with Justice Ofosu-Apeasah and Dave Melin scoring the others.

A 1-0 victory over Pack Horse Rangers saw the King Arms (Trowbridge) remain in pole position as Brad Rawlings netted.

After conceding 25 goals in four games Bear Casuals made it two clean sheets in a row with a 6-0 drubbing of Rowde.

Matty Gurke gave them the lead, Lee Jackson twice, Chris Bishop, Lee Ridout and an own goal completed the scoring.

Bottom-of-the-table Plough picked up only their third point of the season despite giving up a two-goal lead against White Horse.

Goals from Gary Taylor and Dave Thomas (penalty) put them in command, but Mark Pugh and Paul Whale hit back.

Old Road Tavern hit back from two goals down to claim a thrilling 5-4 win at home to KSM.

Rick Lovenburry (2), Gavin Aplin (penalty), Martin Woolford and Dav Rumble scored for Tavern as Phil Watts, Mark Bolton, Matt Pike and Martin Bendry's strikes were in vain for KSM.

North Star B had both Aaron Taylor and Jim Bettles dismissed but still managed to cling on to defeat Fascia Graphics 3-2.

Five players were also shown the yellow card but a Jeremy Spruce goal and a penalty from Jamie Farquharson were not enough for Fascia as a Simon Clifford brace saw the Star home after Jim Bettles had struck first.
