Grove Rangers finally ended the stranglehold that Appleton (Abingdon) had had on them in cup competitions, when they won 2-1 in the third round of the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup with goals from Barry Mulcock and Stuart Bartholomew. They are now the only North Berks side left in the competition following Buckland's 4-2 defeat against Old London Apprentices.
In Division 2, a brace from Pete Bedwell in a 2-0 win over Stanford-in- the-Vale lifted Harwell International back to the top on goal difference.
Coleshill United were 3-1 winners over Kintbury Rangers Reserves with Michael Soule, Lee Beaver and Paul Ross on target.
Faringdon Town Reserves saw off Long Wittenham Reserves 5-0 with goals from Troy Redman (2), Robert Owen, Tony Thurston and an own goal.
Didcot Casuals lost ground in Division 4 as Uffington United held them to a 2-2 draw, Charlie Culkirk and Mark Whitley firing home for Didcot.
In Division 5 Steventon Reserves came from 2-0 down at the break to beat Faringdon Town 'A' 3-2, thanks to two goals from James Cairns and one from Kevin Allen.
