SKATERS in Swindon are gearing up for this week's skate-culture exhibition.
The Swindon Community Sk8 Project is hoping the event will generate support for its plans to raise £250,000 to build an indoor skate arena.
The skaters have organised a four-day event to raise awareness of their sport.
They are desperate for sponsorship and plan to invite business people to discuss their plans.
Among the events are skate demonstrations, live bands, graffiti art and break-dancing.
The exhibition takes place between tomorrow and Fri-day, and is free to enter.
On Saturday, they are holding a skating competition.
Entry is £7 and skaters can use the ramps.
Entry to the competition is an extra £5.
Tickets are available from Tower 12 in Victoria Road, Urban in Havelock Street and Loco in the Brunel Plaza.
Colleen Smith, who is helping to organise the event, said: "We have sold around 100 tickets, which is great.
"The ramps have now been made, and we have put them in place.
"The kids are really pleased."
