Nationwide Building Society has won a prestigious award from Personnel Today magazine for its innovative approach to career development.
John Wrighthouse, Nationwide's head of training and members of his team, were presented with the 'Intellect Award for Innovation in Career Development' at a ceremony in London, hosted by TV personality Lily Savage.
A staff suggestion from Customer Advisor Emma Rogers inspired a new programme of career guidance within Nationwide.
As a result, a specially developed site on the society's intranet now helps employees to select a database of jobs and register their interest in vacancies.
John Wrighthouse, Nationwide's head of training said: "We are very proud to have received this award and to be recognised for the way we help our people take advantage of their career opportunities."
