AFTER many years of touring the area asking for donations for good causes, Devizes Lions Club has upgraded and redecorated its Christmas carol float.
Members helped to revamp the trailer on which Father Christmas tours the town and surrounding villages in the three weeks leading up to Christmas.
The float, complete with lights and festive music, goes out on Mondays to Fridays, 5.30pm to 8pm each evening, to visit as many homes in the locality as possible and rarely finds people in less than generous mood.
Lion Doug Simpson said: "When people know it is for a local charity, they are only too happy to shell out. All the money collected by the float will go to Devizes charities and other good causes."
