ANTI road hump campaigners are calling on councillors to vote to tear up the controversial ramps in Covingham.
In August, campaigner Julie-anne Mason, of Cheraton Close, Nythe presented Swindon Council with a petition signed by 2,000 residents who wanted the humps removed.
But despite their protest, officers are recommending that councillors vote tonight to leave the ramps untouched.
Following the petition, the council carried out its own survey, which found that most people wanted the traffic calming measures to stay.
Julieanne said: "I dispute the council's figures because we got 2,034 people who said they wanted them torn up.
"If the council doesn't remove them, I can always lobby the House of Commons. I want alternative measures put in place.
"What happens at the moment is that cars just drive through the middle of the ramps. They also cause difficulties for emergency vehicles."
The humps were introduced in April because between Jan-uary 1998 and March 2003, 65 people were injured on Coving-ham's roads.
Since then one person has been hurt.
The council meets tonight at 6pm in the Civic Offices in Euclid Street.
