KEWAL Rama, proprietor of the Pines Hotel in Marshfield Road, Chippenham, has denied three breaches of fire regulations and faces a trial before magistrates in the New Year.
Rama appeared before Chippenham magistrates on Monday.
He pleaded not guilty to a charge of breaching the requirements of a fire safety certificate by failing to ensure a fire exit was not locked or fastened, on November 7.
He also pleaded not guilty to a charge of failing to maintain a fire alarm in good order and not guilty to a further charge of failing to carry out monthly tests of emergency equipment.
Rama, represented by Michael Wills, did plead guilty to a charge of failing to keep a corridor clear of combustible material and a charge of failing to ensure a firedoor was maintained.
