KEITH O'Halloran enjoyed a happy reunion with former Swindon Town teammate Ian Herring in the centre of the Bluebirds' midfield and provided a solid foundation for a much improved team performance.

The 28-year-old moved to Hardenhuish Park club at the start of last month in a bid to kick-start his injury plagued career after breaking his leg .

Last week manager Steve White signed teenager Herring on loan.

O'Halloran said he enjoyed teaming up with his former club-mate again.

"We played really well at Havant and we should have again won the game," he said. "We created a lot of chances and if we keep doing that I'm sure we will shoot up the league."

He said it had been hard work for himself and Herring in midfield but he felt the whole team contributed to a positive display.

"Havant played three in midfield so me and Ian both had to play a little bit of a holding role but Mingsy and Charlie did excellently up front," he added.

"Everyone seemed to have a good game and I felt we deserved to win. If we keep playing like we will give someone a thumping. In the few games I've played in we seem to have done better against the top teams.

"We did well at Crawley even though we lost and even last weekend we created a lot of chances."

The midfielder thinks Herring's loan move will do him a lot of good and his time at Chippenham could help kick-start his season.

"He came in at the end of last year and did very well at Swindon," said O'Halloran. "He hasn't had as many chances this year but for all of us we just want to play games."

He is not underestimating the importance of getting a positive result at Chelmsford. "They are only four or five points ahead of us so we would close in on them if we can win," he continued.

"I've only played a couple of games under Steve because I've been injured but things now seem to be clicking.''
