SCREWFIX DIVISION ONE: IN-form Corsham Town should have made it seven wins from seven games on Saturday but a resilient Street side battled back to salvage a draw from the game.
Colin Bush's side twice took the lead and carved out a host of other chances but both times the home team pegged them back.
Nigel Curtis and Frankie Coleman found the net for Corsham but a Nick Woon double forced them to settle for a draw.
Bush said: "It was a little bit of a kick up the backside for us.
"We absolutely buried them in the first half and should have been four or five in front at half-time.
"In the end we were 1-0 ahead and deserved it.
"We then had two chances straight after halftime but we didn't take them.
"Fair play to Street they saw that they were only a goal behind and were still in it and they had a great spell and came back."
Bush saw his side instantly regain the lead and felt they should have held their composure to see out the victory.
"Their first goal was disappointing as it came from a near-post flick at a corner," he added.
"Frankie got a superb goal straight from the kick-off but then they equalised again after poor defending by Dan Beck.
"At the end I felt both managers were pleased to hear the final whistle because the game could have gone either way."
Corsham controlled the match from the outset and took a deserved lead after 28 minutes when Nigel Curtis fired home.
Bush's side had enough chances to extend their lead before the break and were made to rue their wastefulness midway through the second period when Nick Woon headed an equaliser.
Parity was short-lived though as Corsham regained the advantage within a minute as Frankie Coleman let fly from long range.
But the Southbank side saw their winning run come to an end ten minutes from time when Matt Francis' shot was parried and Woon followed up to net the rebound.
"We have been on a good run but this will be the reminder we need not to let it slip," Bush said.
"We said it would take about ten games for us to gel and it did because we had a poor start.
"We knew the players were good enough and now we've now had a fantastic run.
"But the important thing was we needed a kick up the backside without losing.
"We are now back down to earth and are keeping our feet on the ground.
"We are not getting carried away and everyone is keeping level headed."
