SCREWFIX DIVISION ONE: CORSHAM missed the chance to take all three points against their fellow promotion chasers but still stretched their unbeaten run to eight games.
Nobby Bush's side trailed 1-0 at half-time but rallied in the second half and should have won the match through a clinical double strike from Dave Kilmurray.
But they were caught off guard seconds after taking the lead and Bristol snatched themselves a share of the spoils.
"I felt we dominated the first half and were unlucky to be one goal down," said Bush.
"After that we did have the balance of play without really being too creative up front. In the first half we maybe didn't have enough belief even though we have gone on such a good run.
"But in the second half I asked the players to go out and get a goal and we were patient and got the goal we wanted."
Once Corsham had taken the lead Bush expected his side to go on and win the game but he was not too downbeat about the result.
"The second goal came at the right time when Alan got round the back and put in a great ball for Dave to score another," he added.
"But you are most vulnerable when you have just scored. We gave a free-kick away which was a bit dubious and we defended a bit deep and their kiddie has knocked it in unchallenged which is disappointing.
"But it is still encouraging for us and we are delighted to have gone eight games unbeaten now."
On a cold night at Southbank both sides took some time to settle into the game, but it was Bristol Manor Farm who struck the first blow in the 25th minute.
Former Chippenham Town player Nick Tiley swung in a corner and although Craig Chaplin did well to parry Matt Baird's header Danny Slee buried the rebound.
Jamie Harrison and John Woods combined to give Dave Kilmurray an opening but he was well tackled by Baird.
Kilmurray had a half-chance close to the break but his shot was blocked by Baird and on the stroke of half-time Nigel Curtis, header from a Matt Hobbs centre was saved by Ian Jones.
Corsham upped the ante after the restart and Frankie Coleman found himself in space on the right of the area but his cut back was cleared.
The equaliser came on 51 minutes when Kilmurray latched onto a defence-splitting ball from Coleman and cut the ball back across Jones and into the far corner.
Alan Griffin worked the ball to Harrison who curled an effort just over the bar and the winger again went close when he shot through a crowded area but was denied by Jones.
Corsham scored what they thought was the winner 15 minutes from full-time. Griffin got in behind the Manor Farm defence on the right and faced the ball across goal to leave Kilmurray with a simple tap-in.
But the home team's celebrations were cut short as within a minute Bristol skipper Baird was left unmarked to head home a Tiley free-kick.
In the final minute Corsham almost snatched back the three points when 17-year-old substitute Scott Lye broke through but he pulled his shot just wide of the far post.
Bush's side are without a fixture this weekend and will next be in action in the Boxing Day derby at Calne Town.
