SCREWFIX DIVISION ONE: CORSHAM Town's boss has been praising the loyalty of his players after striker Alan Griffin turned down a move to First Division Paulton Rovers.
Darren Perrin offered Griffin a chance to step up a division but he has chosen to remain at the Southbank Ground to continue his football education under Bush's guidance.
"I spoke to Alan on Sunday and again on Monday and for his own development he knows he needs to stay here," said the manager.
"He'll get regular football here and he knows there will be time to move on. We spoke about him having maybe two solid seasons here."
Bush said the club was already planning for next season and he believes they have a good chance to make a promotion tilt.
"With the team I've got here if we'd had a better start we'd be right up the top," he added. "The ideal thing now is for the club to work out a way to keep the team together and start building into next season. We've got such a good group of players that with a good start next year they are more than capable of doing some real damage."
Griffin said he was enjoying his football and decided to stay to repay his manager's faith in him. "It was nice to get recognition from a club in a higher division," the striker said. "But I've got a lot of respect for Nobby. He's brought me over here and taught me a lot this season and I owe him a lot."
