A fancy dress disco at Calne Football Social Club has raised more than £100 to help start a club for children.
The social club is hoping to start the Saturday morning group for children aged seven to ten.
Club treasurer Ann Wright said the disco at the weekend had been a great success. "All the children came in their fancy dress costumes and everyone had great fun," she said.
The disco was followed by a tabletop sale the following day, which included gifts donated by local businesses.
Mrs Wright said they had gained lots of support for the Saturday club and people have been donating games for the children to use.
The club will be continuing to run a series of fundraising events. There will be a bingo night and raffle on December 21 from 8pm, Boxing Day skittles in the hall, a Christmas quiz on December 28, a New Year's Eve party and a children's Christmas party on January 4.
