Pupils at St Margaret's School in Calne dressed in festive red and green clothes last week to raise money this Christmas.
The pupils went to school in their own clothes and paid £1 for the privilege. The own clothes day launched the school's annual charity appeal and more than £400 was raised, all of which will be donated to the Rowdeford Trust, in aid of Rowdeford school, Rowde, near Devizes, for children with special needs.
Along with wearing their festive outfits the children raised money through a series of events including a cake sale, raffle and quizzes. Children wore a variety of costumes, some dressed all in red while others wore reindeer antlers and Christmas tree hats.
Headteacher Karen Cordon said: "We like to start our charity appeal at this time of year to remind the children that Christmas is about giving as well as about receiving. We are delighted with the funds that have been raised."
St Margaret's Preparatory School is an independent co-education primary school situated in the grounds of St Mary's boarding school for girls.
