RICK Kibby, whose book on sport in Devizes was launched last month to great acclaim, was the guest speaker at Devizes School's sixth form presentation evening on Monday.
Mr Kibby is not a former pupil of the secondary school, studying at Colston's School in Bristol after leaving Southbroom Junior, but he was born and brought up in the town and is proud of its sporting achievements.
In his speech he made reference to the school's bid for sports college status.
Mr Kibby presented a copy of Devizes Allsports, his comprehensive compendium of sporting activities. The book has sold nearly 600 copies.
