A WALK-in thief has stolen a valuable bronze sculpture from a Marlborough art gallery.
The 18in tall sculpture Horse and Jockey was taken from the Bowmoore Gallery in London Road.
Gallery owner Gerry Denning said the sculpture was displayed in a conservatory at the back of the gallery.
Mrs Denning said: "It vanished either on Thursday or Friday of last week. It was sitting in the conservatory at the back of the shop and it just disappeared."
The sculpture by West Country artist Jan Sweeney is valued at £1,800.
Mrs Denning said it was quite heavy but could have been carried out of the gallery under a folded coat.
Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact Marlborough police on (01672) 512311.
