Ref. 28346-35Swindon town centre was filled with the sweet sounds of Christmas cheer.
Shoppers in the Brunel Centre were delighted as scores of children from Ruskin Junior School performed a selection of Christmas songs.
The 70-strong choir, comprising nine, 10 and 11-year-olds, pulled in the crowds at 1.30pm yesterday.
The children hoped their performance would raise cash to fund a trip to Barcelona in July.
Creighton Muirhead, headteacher at Ruskin Junior School, said: "The choir has been very successful in recent years at regional and national competitions and so we thought it would be nice for them to go on tour to Barcelona next year.
"The children are used to performing in places like the Festival Hall and the Wyvern Theatre, but they are excited to be singing in Swindon."
Swindon companies interested in sponsoring the choir abroad should call the school on 01793 332107.
