A HUGE modern marquee was put up in Monkton Park, Chippenham, on Thursday, and carpeted, with a stage and seating for about 200 plus.
It was a very upmarket job. I asked a worker what it was and he told me it was a party for North Wiltshire Leisure staff.
I hope they had a wonderful time and would rest easy if I was assured that no cost was borne by the council tax payer, especially when my council tax is more than £100 a month and the surrounding roads are full of potholes. I hope my fears are groundless. Can someone please tell us?

North Wiltshire Leisure said the party in the marquee was not for its staff, but a private function organised by NWLL for a Chippenham company. The event did not cost the council tax payer, instead it helped raise funds for NWLL.
