A nursery in Melksham is one step closer to opening after the delivery of a purpose-built building.
Plans for the pre-fabricated building, on land off St Michael's School, hung in the balance after the Regional Development Agency pulled £700,000- worth of funding.
But cash from groups such as the New Opportunities Fund, a bank loan and private donations meant the scheme could go ahead.
Melksham Town Council and West Wiltshire District Council also both handed over £5,000 last Thursday.
Queensway Chapel pre-school is hoping to open the nursery, which is large enough for 30 children, next April.
Adrienne Westbrook, chairman of community partnership Melk-sham First, said: "It is a relief to get the first nursery building and we look forward to having a second as well."
Proposals for a £400,000 centre to extend facilities at Lowbourne Infants School are also in the pipeline.
But the project could be in jeopardy because of the cost of a new entrance and associated roadworks.
