YOUTH FOOTBALL: SHAW and Whitley scored five times in the second half to run out 6-1 home winners over Amesbury in the under 16s Blue Division of the Wiltshire Times and Chippenham News Mid-Wilts Youth and Minor League.

Shaw were 1-0 ahead at the break, but Amesbury hit back soon after the restart to draw level.

Shaw then regained the lead before going on to finish 6-1 winners. James Ponsford, Michael Callaghan, Luke Ballinger (2), Tom Robinson and Rikki Summers scored for Shaw.

Jack Slade put Bemerton Heath Harlequins 1-0 up at the interval from the penalty spot in their home game against Cricklade. The visitors fought back well to get back into the match in the second half of a well contested game before a second goal by Docking sealed a 2-0 win for Bemerton.

Under 16s Red Division

BOTTOM of the table Devizes Town Youth gave a great team performance against top of the table Warminster Highbury in a very close game which ended 2-1 to Highbury.

Lewis Sparey and Sam Landry scored for Highbury, with Joe Unsworth replying for Devizes.

Steven Birch gave AFC Corsham an early lead in their home game against Pewsey Vale, with Pewsey levelling before the break. Matty Ralph regained the lead for the home side before Birch's second completed the scoring and the game at 3-1 to Corsham.

Under 15s Blue Division

TROWBRIDGE Town Youth remain unbeaten this season but home side Amesbury Juniors made them fight for everything in a good advert for youth football.

Trowbridge dominated the first half, but good defending and good goalkeeping from Amesbury kept them at bay until Trowbridge were awarded a penalty for handball which Nathan Glass converted.

The Amesbury goalkeeper then produced an incredible save denying Nick Medin and leading to a 1-0 half-time score.

The second half was a similar story but after Josh Hall smashed home the second goal the floodgates opened, with Medin scoring an excellent hat-trick and singles from Dan Kovaks, Callum Simpson and substitute Scott Cunningham completing an 8-0 victory for Trowbridge.

Under 15s Red Division

THE midtable battle between Rowde Youth and visitors AFC Corsham ended all square at 2-2 with all goals scored in the first half.

Rowde took the lead twice with quick replies from Corsham. Andrew Cook and Anthony Butler scored for Rowde.

Calne Town Youth remain in second place, three points behind leaders Wroughton, after running out 3-1 winners at Warminster Highbury. Nick Sleeman scored for Highbury.

Lavington Bandits earned their second home win of the season with a convincing 12-4 home win against Durrington Rangers. Lavington's goals came from Jason Hood (6), Jack Fisher (4) and Alex Bishop (2).

Under 14s Blue Division

SHAW and Whitley returned to winning ways with a comfortable 5-2 victory at Warminster Highbury.

Kane Udeh opened the scoring for Shaw only for Warminster to equalise shortly after. Further first half goals from Udeh, Danny King, with a rare right foot shot, and a 20-yard screamer from Jordan Coulter after fine approach play from Ross Crighton put Shaw back on track.

Shortly before the break Ian Jeffery scored again for Shaw following a fine solo run. Warminster scored a second after the break and Udeh was unlucky that his spectacular overhead kick crashed against the post late on, denying him a deserved hat-trick.

A very closely fought contest between Bath Arsenal and Chippenham Town Youth saw Chippenham eventual 4-3 winners.

Under 14s Green Division

TWO fine goals from Tom Cassin-Davis secured the points for Worton and Cheverell in their keenly contested home match against Amesbury Juniors.

The game was finely balanced from the start, with the home side leading by a single goal at the interval.

Amesbury levelled early in the second half but Worton swiftly replied after some fine play out of defence through midfield and finished with a well executed strike. Worton battled to hold the advantage with great performances from Tom Walsh, Joost Lacey, Toby Mullins and Andy Sims.

Division leaders Bemerton Heath Harlequins took a two goal lead in the first half against home side Devizes Blues, with Olley Hill and Jacob Boston scoring. The Blues pulled one back in the second half through James Muir.

The remainder of the game was end to end but neither side managed further goals, leaving the final score at 2-1.

A hat-trick for Danny Lovett and one for Sean Cartwright saw home side AFC Corsham run out 4-0 winners against Calne Town Youth.

Under 12s Red Division

CHRISTMAS came early for Matt Steelyard, who scored six times for Castle Combe Colts in their 8-1 home win over Melksham Park 2nds. James Brigham and Sam Tinson also scored for Castle Combe.

Amesbury Juniors ran out 4-1 winners away to Marlborough Town. Marlborough were not down-hearted as their goal was the best of the season so far, Oliver Roebuck scoring with a spectacular shot from the half way line.

Under 13s Blue Division

TROWBRIDGE Wanderers took all three points from leaders Salisbury City for the first time this season.

Both sides battled well in the first half, leading to a 1-1 score line at the break. Wanderers gave a great team performance in the second half and ran out 5-2 winners. Wanderers' goals came from Ronnie Frost 3, Kyle Davis and Craig Berry.

Trowbridge Town Youth found the going tougher than they expected in their away game against Pewsey Vale, but took a narrow 1-0 lead at the interval. Pewsey brought the game level from the restart then held on until the last 10 minutes when Trowbridge put two in the back of the net to finish 3-1 winners. James Guthrie scored for Pewsey.

The midtable clash between Chippenham Town Youth and visitors Melksham Park produced a very exciting 13-goal thriller with Chippenham taking the honours with a 9-4 final score.

Under 13s Green Division

SOUTH Newton and Wishford earned their first three points of the season following a very close game against Bromham.

South Newton took a 2-0 lead before Bromham brought the game level at the break. Bromham carried on where they had left off and took the lead at 3-2 before South Newton bought the game level then scored the winner in the final minute.

Jamie Gray, Aaron Blackmore, Josh Brown and Tom Salmon scored for South Newton.

Jamie Castle (2), Danny Walton (2), Josh Hardy and Daniel Jones all scored for Durrington Rangers in their 6-1 home win against Chippenham Town Rangers.

Chippenham Town Youth went to Westbury full of confidence on the back of their 9-2 win against Bromham last week and looking to close the gap on a Westbury side who are second in the division and with only one defeat in the last 13 months.

The game lived up to all expectations with a performance from both sides that will be hard to better this season.

In the first half both sides rattled the woodwork as they battled for the upper hand.

The second half saw Westbury awarded a penalty, which was converted by Steve Smart, with a goal from winger Lee Newman before Chippenham scored with five minutes to go sparking a mini revival.

Both sides should be proud of their performance and were a good advert for youth football at any level.

Under 13s Red Division

SECOND from bottom Castle Combe Colts gave leaders Amesbury Juniors a run for their money in a very evenly contested game which saw the home side lead 2-0 at one point and go in 3-2 up at the break.

The game was end to end in the second half with both team trading goals but with Amesbury snatching the winner in the last minute to finish 6-5 ahead.

AFC Corsham remain one point behind leaders Amesbury following their decisive 7-2 win against home side Shaw and Whitley. Dan Moore and Alex Bentham-Cooke scored for Shaw.

Under 12s Blue Division

WARMINSTER Highbury took a 2-0 lead in their home game with Amesbury, who pulled a goal back just before the break.

Highbury took control in the second half, hitting the target a further three times to finish 5-1 winners.

Nathan Salmon (3, Craig Sheppard and Stuart Lisowski scored for Highbury.

Under 12s Red Division

IN a mid table clash it was honours even between home side Warminster United Youth and Melksham Park.

Melksham took a 2-1 half time lead with United squaring the game in the second half leaving the final score at 2-2. Lawrence Barclay and Jordan Smith scored for Warminster.

Under 11s Blue Division

IN a fairly even match played in sticky conditions Bradford Youth earned a point at home to Trowbridge Wanderers.

Wanderers took the lead at 1-0 with Bradford equalising through Danny Clarkson.

Under 11s Red Division

THE top of the table clash between Corsham and Devizes did not quite live up to its billing, with Corsham running out with a depleted squad of just 10 men.

The game started brightly for Devizes, who went 2-0 up inside 10 minutes with goals from Daniel Case and Sam Perrett.

Two further goals followed before the break with the pick of them being a stunning solo effort from Glynn Rowles and the other coming from a very hard-working Shea D'arcy.

After the break Devizes continued to pressure the Corsham goal and three more goals followed, with Glynn Rowles and Daniel Case each completing a brace and Adam Pearce netting with a header.

A well-taken from goal Tom Smith was Corsham's only consolation with the final score at 7-1.
