VOLUNTEERS in Bradford on Avon have given up a staggering 6,097 hours of their time in the past year for St John Ambulance.
At the Bradford branch's annual meeting members heard how the tally of hours put in had reached a record level and demand for services is expected to be even higher next year.
Events covered by the Bradford branch included Lions Club events, race days at Castle Combe and motocross at Monkton Farleigh.
Public relations officer Chris King said: "It has been such an excellent year for us and all our members have put in a lot of hours. I expect at least 10 per cent more hours on the books for next year so we have our work cut out."
Becky Gray, 15, of Innox Road, Trowbridge, was highly commended after she was named Cadet of the Year for both the Bradford division and the county.
