CLLR Milroy (Wiltshire Times, December 12) may be overjoyed that the Vision for Trowbridge meets some central government new bureaucratic planning framework.
However most local people and voters have a more everyday concern.
When will Trowbridge get the much-needed, large-scale retail outlets it so obviously needs?
The recent regional government 'call in' of the Ushers retail development has tragically delayed this scheme for yet another year or more.
Many people in the town suspect a link between the championing of the Vision by the Regional Development Agency and regional government's negative response to the proposed Ushers development.
We may never know the full truth. Yet, it is clear that the Vision will not bring large-scale retail outlets to Trowbridge for many years to come. Whereas with the Ushers development we could have had them in months.
