A NURSERY supervisor has added her support to a campaign for a pedestrian crossing close to a Trowbridge primary school.
Parents and teachers from Newtown Primary School launched a campaign last week after a 10-year-old pupil was knocked down outside the gates.
Jodi Johnson, who supervises the nursery on the school site, has backed the campaign and written to Wiltshire County Council calling for action.
Labelling the road "busy and dangerous", she said only a crossing controlled by lights would reduce the threat.
A school crossing patroller is on duty before and after the school but does not cover the breakfast groups or after-school clubs.
Hundreds of parents have signed a petition set up in school last week.
Headteacher Sue Ivermee said she planned to invite council officers to the school to highlight the problems faced on a daily basis.
