A PARTY for Trowbridge's older population had a festive feel at the Civic Hall on Sunday.
The Christmas party for the Older People's Sunday group was the culmination of a year of monthly meetings.
Frome-based Mrs B's Caring and Catering cooked a full Christmas dinner for over 160 elderly revellers and entertainment was provided by ballroom dancers Don & Cindy.
Bill Austin, manager, said: "It was an opportunity for the town council to bring older people of the town together to have a fun and enjoyable afternoon with entertainment and have some company.
"Most of the people who turned up were cooing about the day and I have already had Christmas cards and letters from people saying what a great time they had."
Local businesses donated gifts and cash to a raffle and town mayor Glynn Bridges acted as compere.
The monthly event is organised by Trowbridge Town Council and free transport for elderly people is provided.
