A VANDAL who hurled a traffic cone and a house brick through the windows of two cars has been ordered to pay back the owners by magistrates.
Lee Watts, of College Road, Trowbridge, a schizophrenic, told police he threw a brick through the front windscreen of a parked Peugeot car and a road bollard into a Nissan Micra because "it felt right at the time".
The 25-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal damage at Chippenham Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
Prosecutor Stacey Turner said the damage was noticed by both owners when they woke up on October 8.
Defence solicitor Tim Hammick said Watts was unsure whether drug-induced psychosis or his mental illness was behind the attack.
He said: "Mr Watts told me he felt very strange and it seemed like the right thing to do. He felt he was being threatened."
Magistrates ordered Watts to pay £100 compensation and £34 court costs.
