Motorists who think they can drive early in the morning after a drinks binge the night before need to think again.
Police say they are stopping more drivers who foolishly believe they are safe or won't be caught.
Alcohol stays in people's bodies hours after they finish their last drink. Boozers seem to have the habit of forgetting this so officers are trying to drum home the dangers over the Christmas period.
The only safe answer is not to drink any alcohol if you know you are getting up early to drive the next day.
It really is not worth taking the chance. We have all heard horrifying stories of fatal accidents as a result of drink driving. Let's not have any more.
