A FORMER pupil at Warneford School, Highworth, has graduated from a prestigious RAF college and is about to begin pilot training.
Pilot Officer Jason Murray, who holds a BSc, completed the Initial Officer Training Course at RAF Cranwell, near Sleaford, in Lincolnshire.
Pilot Officer Murray, 24, is from Wanborough, where his parents still live.
Following his time at Warneford School, he attended New College in Swindon and the University of Bristol, where he read mathematics.
Following graduation, he did temping work with the Learning and Skills Council in Westlea, Swindon, which oversees and administers post-16 and adult education.
He joined the RAF in June. RAF spokeswoman Ruth Vernon said: "Jason, who enjoys karate, squash and gliding, will now begin his professional training as a pilot."
His officer training course lasted 24 weeks, including adventure and survival training in Scotland and air experience.
He graduated in front of Air Vice Marshall Clive Loader, Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff (Operations).
