How delightful that Danny Lake's letter should be given such prominence. Without it I would have had no idea that we were being invaded.
As a newcomer to Swindon, I have been impressed with how friendly people have been but I'm staggered that the people Mr Lake encountered would discuss such a personal issue within minutes of meeting him.
I assume he did talk to the people boarding the bus, because if he didn't, how could he possibly know they were asylum seekers?
I urge Mr Lake to provide some figures to back up his claims. Perhaps a good place to start would be the Refugee Council.
