GENEROUS pupils at Ridgeway School, in Wroughton, raised £8,000 for charity by holding a day of sponsored activities.
And on Thursday representatives from the charities were invited to a special assembly to receive the cash.
The school timetable went out of the window when the school held its sponsored activities day in October.
Instead of normal lessons, youngsters took part in sponsored cycle rides, walks, ice skating, dancing, skateboarding and cake baking.
The good causes were all chosen by the pupils themselves.
The money will be split between the Prospect Hospice, in Wroughton, the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, the British Heart Foundation, the NSPCC, the RSPCA and CLIC Cancer and Leukaemia in Childhood.
Janet Darlow, who organised the activities day, said: "The pupils showed determination and commitment in carrying out the activities.
"They had fun, and everyone entered into the spirit of the day."
