Malmesbury battled hard in difficult conditions against Minchinhampton, eventually going down 26-19.
Minchinhampton boasted a large, strong pack and played better as a unit against the visitors.
Due to front row problems though Malmesbury eventually had to play with unopposed scrums.
The home side took the lead in the first half with tries by Jon Sparkhall and Tom Norton, both converted by Norton
They went further ahead in the second half with a try by Paul Hollands, again converted by Norton.
Malmesbury's Justin King then scored an unconverted try in reply.
Hollands scored a fourth try, which went unconverted and Dorian James and King replied with tries for the visitors, both converted by skipper Craig Sillars.
