A SWINDON pensioner who denies abducting four schoolgirls and indecently assaulting one girl will face trial in the New Year.
Graham Adams, 65, of Mulberry Grove in Rodbourne Cheney, was yesterday given permission by Swindon Magistrates to spend the Christmas period in a hotel, paid for by a relative.
Hugh Norman, defending, said the time spent at the hotel in Somerset would be "nice for him and his family."
In mid-October Adams appeared before the magistrates in connection with an alleged abduction near Hreod Parkway School. As he left the court buildings, police charged him with a further six offences involving three other girls.
It is alleged that he abducted one of the girls in his car between September 30, 2002 and October 11 this year.
In addition, he is charged with abducting and indecently assaulting a 14-year-old girl on October 6 this year, as well as possessing cannabis.
He was bailed until January 19 on condition that keeps away from Swindon and makes no contact with anyone under 16 without supervision.
