SWINDON under 15s recovered from a distressing start to their match with Wootton Bassett to run out 27-0 winners.
Things started badly for the home team when the full-back, Josh Shave, received an accidental blow to the head in the opening tackle of the match.
This resulted in the game being interrupted for 55 minutes as he was air-lifted to the Great Western Hospital.
Subsequent tests showed no damage and he should be back in action after Christmas.
When the game restarted it was a restructured Swindon team who scored the opening try centre pairing of Matt Luker and Grant Hurry feeding the ball down the line to Jason Wright, who ran in his first try of the day.
Swindon went further ahead thanks to a penalty from fly-half, Dan Whitmore.
Wright added his second of the day just before half-time after a series of rucks. The ball went down the line to Wright who obliged by scoring in the corner.
Swindon extended their lead after the interval when Dan Whitmore sent a long pass past his two centres into the arms of Wright to run in his hat-trick. Whitmore then added the conversion.
Wootton Bassett threw everything they had at the Swindon line and only some excellent defence from the Swindon pack prevented them from scoring.
The final try of the day came from Wright who, after a spell of Bassett pressure, ran the length of the pitch to score under the posts allowing an easy conversion for Whitmore to take the final score to 27-0.
