A YEAR after making her first appearance at Chippenham Hospital, tiny football fan Ellie Sheppard will be scoring a double, with her first Christmas and birthday in one.
Born at 2.31pm on December 25 2002, Ellie was a week late, but her parents Katie, 25, and Oli, 26, said she was the best present they could have wished for.
"It was a mad way to spend Christmas, in a maternity ward," said Mrs Sheppard of Arundel Close, Chippenham. "We were on tenter-hooks up until the birth, wondering if she would be born on Christmas Day."
Ellie already has two bottom teeth and is crawling.
And her football-mad parents, who are both members of Manchester United Supporters Club, hope it's only a matter of time before she starts playing.
"She watches football on the television and shouts at the players," said Mrs Sheppard, who is also secretary of Chippenham Ladies FC. "She especially likes the Champions League and my husband Oli has already bought her a tiny Manchester United shirt.
"When she's a little older we'll enrol her in the supporters club and may take her along to see some games too."
