LITTLE miracles Jacob and Alex, who were born 15 weeks early, will be enjoying their first Christmas at home in Little Somerford this week.
The twins were given only a slim chance of survival when they were born weighing just two pounds, less than a bag of sugar, on Easter Sunday.
After 17 weeks on ventilators at the Royal United Hospital, Bath, to help their under-developed lungs to breathe, both boys returned home, still on oxygen but otherwise healthy, in August.
Overjoyed mum and dad Rachel, 34, and Simon Nuttall, 35, described them as little miracles.
And after six years of trying for children, this Christmas is a dream come true for the couple, who will be spending the day with close family at their home in Meadow Lane.
The last few months have been critical for the battling babes.
The twins are in good health and developing normally.
But Mrs Nuttall said: "I am feeling a lot more confident than I did. Although I still worry that they will get a cold."
Both boys still need help to breathe, and their parents have to carry around two large cylinders whenever they take them out.
