PEOPLE who have suffered a stroke are sought by The Stroke Association for a trial into a new community-based support scheme.
The trial will take place in Wiltshire and Bath and volunteers will have the chance to take part in physical exercise sessions run by trained staff.
The aim is help stroke survivors undertake everyday tasks and to maintain healthy and fit lifestyles.
Representatives from The Benefits Agency and Social Services will also be on hand to offer help and advice on the services and benefits available locally to help stroke survivors return to an active role.
Heather Webber, regional manager of The Stroke Association, said: "It often takes people months, perhaps even years, to recover from the devastating effects of a stroke. This is a great chance to test how stroke survivors can get back on track to leading a fulfilling life.
"We would love local people who have suffered a stroke in the past 18 months to help us evaluate the scheme."
Anyone interested in taking part should call the project team on (01225) 824120 or The Stroke Association's regional office on 0117 953 1200.
