A course to help elderly people use their car safely has been launched in Wiltshire with the backing of local actor George Baker.
Mr Baker, 72, who plays Chief Inspector Wexford in the TV series, believes the scheme will be helpful and popular in rural Wiltshire.
He said: "Having taken the test myself I can honestly say there are many benefits to this scheme.
"I have been driving for 54 years and find the car a handy way to get about Wiltshire."
The actor, who lives in West Lavington, said that he supported any scheme to help elderly people drive for longer and use their cars safely.
SAGE, which stands for Safer Driving with Age, is being run by the Road Safety Unit of the Environmental Services Department at Wiltshire County Council.
