AFTER seeing his side go eight games unbeaten Corsham Town boss Nobby Bush says a Boxing Day derby win over Calne Town will be the icing on the cake.

Corsham, who were without a game last weekend, have won six and drawn two of their last eight games.

Bush says the important thing is to keep the unbeaten run going but hopes a win over Calne can spur his team on for the second half of the season.

"We are reasonably in form and will go there wanting to come away with at least a point," he said.

"But to be fair form goes out of the window in these derby matches and it will be a nice intriguing game. We are looking forward to it but will keep relaxed and look to perform on the day."

Bush is hoping the 11am kick-off will encourage a large crowd and is confident both teams will look to put on a show.

"It is a good fixture for local football and hopefully people will want come and watch," he added.

"I just hope it's a proper derby because some I have seen lately have been a bit stand-offish. Hopefully it will be an exciting match but although it is a derby it is just another three points up for grabs.

"We don't want to get beaten and a win would see us into the New Year nicely. I watched Calne against Larkhall and they have got some danger points and weaknesses. They are the home side so the onus is on them to come out and attack us."

Bush said his players will only train once this week and will have the weekend off. "We are training once this week but after that we'll go back to twice a week," he said.

"We'll play on Boxing Day but then have the weekend off because I haven't been able to fault the lads' commitment this season.

"I'll be spending Christmas Day at home with my family. I'll be keeping one eye on the weather and hopefully it will stay mild and we'll have a good game on Boxing Day."

Corsham have doubts over Alan Griffin for the Calne clash because of work commitments. Bush will have to wait to hear if the striker is available or not.

Geo Sperti is back in contention after shaking off illness while Jack Heard and Scott Lye add to Bush's options.
