The controversy about the pigeons has got out of control. To exterminate them is wrong.

When I frequently go into Trowbridge they don't bother me. I think they have as much right there as I have.

As for calling them flying rats and vermin, well. I consider most of them fine birds, seeing they have to feed on whatever they can find.

After all, they are one of God's creatures and as such should be treated with more respect.

During the war they did valuable work carrying messages. What a wonderful sense of direction these creatures have and they are certainly not vermin.

What a full world this would be without wildlife which at this time is struggling to survive in this so called modern world. Man dominates the whole world for its own benefit.

I say leave the pigeons alone. A very cold winter will sort them out naturally. And nature's law allows the strongest to live on.
