May I please give thanks from PACT (Pewsey Area Community Trust) members and directors to all those who contributed with time, donations and gifts towards the Christmas Fayre and Community Open Day on December 6 with the switch-on of the new Christmas lights.
Support was overwhelming from members of the public, the carnival committee, Hasbeens, Zizex Club, King's Korner Band, Phoenix Brass Band, The Shak and other
organisations including Pewsey Parish Council, Kennet District Council and Wiltshire County
Council.
Particular thanks go to the Fire Brigade for its assistance and use of its yard, also for the magnificent pig roast which soon disappeared.
A fine example of its expertise was displayed when there was a "shout" during the afternoon which was impressively answered despite the presence of so many people.
Pewsey police were, as always, supportive of this community event, as was the Gazette and Herald.
Importantly, local organisations were able to display the wide range of activities taking place in the Pewsey area.
Thank you to everyone involved in this successful first event of its kind, which is planned to be repeated in the future.
We hope it will become as popular as our famous carnival.
Any surplus funds raised will be donated to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal.
