PUPILS and staff at The Avenue School in Warminster are celebrating a glowing Ofsted report.
Inspectors visited the school for the third time in October and have just published their findings.
Standards in English, maths and science have risen above the national average and other strengths included the quality of teaching and the leadership and management of the headteacher and governors.
An inspector said: "Pupils enjoy coming to the school and are happy and cheerful when they arrive in the morning.
"Provision for the care, guidance and support of the pupils is very good."
Areas singled out for praise included the specialist learning centre, which provides support for children with special educational needs, and the inclusive nature of the school.
Headteacher Colin Zimmerman said: "The whole school community was delighted with the inspection report.
"Especially pleasing were the judgements referring to the care and guidance of pupils which is as important as any curriculum learning.
"It's good to know we do well for our children in both aspects of their schooling."
