PLANS for a new estate in Warminster must ensure public safety is paramount, the town council has stressed.
Earlier this year developers Westbury Homes (Holdings) Ltd won an appeal to build 22 new homes in Deverill Road.
The company now plans to add a further two homes, after demolishing an existing bungalow.
Despite concerns over the application Warminster Town Council's planning advisory committee gave it their backing on Monday, as the extra homes fall within the already permitted development.
But councillors insist the project should include a pedestrian crossing, traffic calming and adequate pavements.
Their views will now be considered by West Wiltshire District Council.
